By I.M. Ulysses
At the gate of the city
I grieve and I mourn
At the porch of the gatehouse
I stand alone
I have fought the battles
God gave me to fight
And triumphed over demons
That came in the night
Yet I feel defeated
A warrior unknown
The last battle's over
And I stand alone
Where is the victory
The promised war won
Which cost Him the Life
Of His first-born son
Who is the conquered
Whose banner’s held high
Though I fought bravely
The victory seems neigh
Come to Him now
Ye men that still roam
He calls unto thee
Who stand alone
The battle’s not over
His cry stirs my heart
And though I am weary
I am ready to start
For here comes the army
God’s angels from high
Led by the Lamb
Who lives and yet died
He speaks His command
Rally once more
Ye who are weary
And stand alone
The battle is Mine
And the victory too
Lift up your heads
It's been given to you
And so comes the Son
The first-born of God
Who's triumph is waiting
For those who have fought
The King of all Kings
Has come to His own
For they are his Children
Who stand alone.
