By I.M. Ulysses
I have come back
From the farthest of lands
Back unto Camelot
And Arthur's kind hands.
I had been missing
These many long years
Battling my demons
And Of all my fears
They tried to subdue me
With fire and with pitch
But my spirit was stronger
And they gained not an inch
And through the horrors
Of those many wars
I regained my honour
Once Lost, now restored
I also found Guinevere
The greatest of Queens
And showed her my heart
So she would believe
She bent her head
And kissed my poor temple
And Arthur, he cried,
“My friend it is settled.”
So back to the Kingdom
I have now returned
My honour regained
My spirit reborn
For what was once stolen
Has now been recovered
And what was once lost
Has been rediscovered
No more will the gates
See seasons of fear
Nor will the people
Shed many more tears
Lancelot the knight
The last cavalier
Returns once again
To the land he revered.
As Arthur and Guinevere
Smile from the castle
Forgiveness and love
Have won their last battle
Camelot's restored
Unto its true King
And my spirit rejoices
To see this great thing
Now to the ramparts
I take up my post
The captain of knights
The leader of hosts
As I look to the future
My heart skips a beat
For my destiny now
Has been made complete
Arthur, he smiles
And Guinevere, rejoices
Their children are happy
They made the right choices
For Squirt, her hubby, and her family!
